7/8/2023 - Horseback Riding and Science!
By: Team M.E.A.T
Hello parents!
Today, we all got the opportunity to try starfruits, which had mixed opinions among everyone. While we’re talking about food, we also got to try ice cream which HIT DIFFERENT 🤤.! They had vanilla, chocolate, and coconut- and chocolate was by far the best. We tried this ice cream after a scavenger hunt in Colonia La Libertad; this was a beautiful town and we got to learn the intriguing history of how it began only 68 years ago after the founding families experienced difficulties in their hometown caused by constant flooding. The scavenger hunt sent us all around the town collecting eggs and cheese from the locals that taught us about their families or interesting components of their homes.
After this, we went horseback riding; and some of these horses had some needs for speed (my horse was named Trueno, which is Spanish for Thunder). We got to ride through forests and streams, and ended our first half of the ride with a stunning view of the mountains around us. On the ride, we got to pass through a trail of Rainbow Eucalyptus trees, which were so pretty.
After lunch and the Howler Monkeys, we traveled to the lab to continue working on our research experiment because we concluded our preliminary trials. We started our presentation, started our main experiment, and adjusted our methods based on the results we received yesterday. To end the day, we had a delicious dinner of chicken, rice, and noodles. We also tried a popular desert that was based on rice, jelly, and nibs! Overall, it was a successful day full of fun!
Hopefully there isn’t another lizard in the cabin again tonight! 🦎
